When you say Djosos Krost, you gotta say DUB! Consisting of Pharfar and Filip Nikolic, this twosome tweaks out dubby sounds in any guise from roots to the deepest electro. Both of them are producers as well as seasoned musicians – Pharfar on drums and Filip on guitars and bass. Djosos Krost adds a cold Nordic electronic sound to warm Jamaican vibes, which is conspicuous on their debut release, ‘No Sign Of Bad’ (Music For Dreams / Panamericana Recordings). The album is produced by Pharfar and Filip and spiced up by the Djosos Krost musical collective, an inner circle of musicians and vocalists who contribute to the Djosos output – people with roots as far apart as Jamaica, Manchester, Barbados, Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia etc., most of them now jointly based in Copenhagen and all part of a burgeoning music community.
The international reception of ‘No Sign Of Bad’ has been extremely positive: It’s gotten great reviews and airplay in UK, Germany, US, France, Spain, Australia, Denmark etc. and has also been picked up by numerous highly respected DJ’s as firm supporters. ‘No Sign Of Bad’’ was nominated in the category ‘Best Urban Release’ at the Danish Music Awards ‘06.
Filip gets a lot of his inspiration from L.A. where he lives and is part of the electronic indie rock band Ima Robot. On his own, he produces as Electricá and Turbotito and is known from the prize-winning Danish rock band LudoX.
Pharfar, known from the biggest newcomer act at the Danish music scene 05: Bikstok Røgsystem, is Denmark’s premier dub and reggae producer and was a recipient of the Producer Of The Year award at the Danish Music Awards ‘06.
